Hello My Name Is...

Ms. Viviana Hernandez

Subjects Taught
Math 6th Grade

I am a former graduate from McCollum High School and an Alumni of The University of the Incarnate Word where I have a BA in Mathematics and minor in Religion. I received my Texas teaching certificate through Texas Teacher Alternative Certification.

This is going on my 7th year teaching. I taught 8th grade for 2 years and 6th grade for 4 years. I will be teaching 6th and 7th grade this year.

I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I grew up on the southside of San Antonio. I attended Carroll Bell Elementary, Terrell Wells Middle School, and McCollum High School. I graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word where I majored in math and played on the women's basketball team.

I am a huge fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. My hobbies are all sports and playing musical instruments such as the guitar, drums, saxophone, bass, and piano. I coach 7th and 8th grade girls basketball and track here at KMS and my passion is basketball. I also love fishing and plan to invest in a beach house soon.

I am the youngest sibling in my family of a brother and a sister and the first to graduate from college. I am an aunt to 5 great nephews and nieces and a great aunt to two nieces. I'm also the mother of my puppy Oakley.

I have traveled the world and love to travel. This summer I mainly went to the coast but I have traveled to New York, New Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Montana, Missouri, Oklahoma and all parts of Texas.

I am very outgoing and friendly and encourage the kids to come ask me for help whenever needed, my door is always open!! I look forward for another great year!

We give homework for math on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of each week depending on if we have a holiday or we do not get to finish an assignment the homework may be postponed to a Thursday. We really are going to stress about homework being turned in on time and fully completed by the next day so that the student will not be getting more behind. A detention hall will be set forth for students who do not complete or turn in homework on time. I am more then willing to stay after school till 4:30 on those homework days to help with students who are still struggling with the material. PLEASE come by and ask for help when needed.

If each student would bring a box of tissue and or hand sanitizer, it would be greatly appreciated as well.
